Join me for the Komen 5K run/walk May 4, 2008

January 11, 2008

Eloise contacted me this week. She is putting together a team for the May 4, 2008 Susan G Komen North Jersey Race for the Cure. It’s a 5K walk/run in Branch Brook Park, Newark, NJ. Her goal is to have 500 people on the Novartis and Friends team.

If you have ever thought about participating in a walk/run, this is the perfect distance to start with. It’s only 5K (3.1 miles). That may sound like a lot, but you can do it !

Also the fund-raising commitment should be easy. Unlike the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, which requires participants to raise $1,800 to walk, you just need to pay the $25 entry fee. After that, whatever you raise is up to you.

To join, go to the Komen site. On the right hand side, click on the button “Join an existing team”. Enter Novartis and Friends into the team name field and click “Search for a team”. Towards the bottom of the page, you will now see Novartis and Friends and Eloise Keane, Team Captain. Click on “Join” to start the registration process.

Don’t want to walk, run, sleep in, or pray (those are your choices for participation)…. then how about sponsoring me ? Just follow this link to the secure online donation page.

Karen good morning, Blogs like yours make the internet a friendly, informative and oft’ times inspiring place — I hope you don’t mind I added your blog to my Avon Walk lens
and check out my blog and too!

Maybe Eloise’s team of Earthbound Angels (and you too!) would like to make custom photo buttons one by one in honor of their Angels! Please pass this along to Eloise for me. Let me know what you think of my blog and Buttons of Hope! makehope, michael
